Why Agricultural and Environmental Science Majors Should Study in Argentina this Summer

Argentina is well known for its geographic and cultural diversity. It is comprised of seven geographical zones from the mountainous Northwest region, to the fertile Pampas, and Patagonia in the South. This biodiversity has led to a robust and thriving food production industry which places Argentina as one of most important agricultural producers in the world. They are among the top exporters of products such as beef, grapes, citrus fruits, wheat and yerba mate. From this, Argentina is renowned for its world class steak, celebrated wine, and its national obsession with yerba mate.

ISA’s Agriculture, Environmental Sciences & Spanish Language Summer program at the Universidad de Buenos Aires – Facultad de Agronomía, offers students the opportunity to take courses in Agriculture and Environmental Science instructed in English by PhD professors. Morning classes are devoted to the study of particular science and environmental topics, while afternoon courses are spent learning Spanish Language for the Agriculture Professions. There are various field trips to locations such as the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture, nearby farms, and local seed companies. These excursions complement in-class study to provide students with a relevant, hands-on learning experience. Students have the support of ISA’s 15 years of experience in Buenos Aires as they study and live in the bustling and enchanting capital city.
