What is the ISA Pay It Forward program?
Great Question.
ISA’s Pay It Forward program is a grant fund that supports ongoing sustainable development projects that aim to develop innovative and practical solutions for communities around the world.
Grants are awarded directly to ISA Service-Learning partner organizations in order to support their projects.
The Pay It Forward program was twice nominated for the GoAbroad Innovation in Philanthropy Award!
How can you be a part of the Pay it Forward movement?
It’s simple.
All ISA students have the opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ through the ISA Student Portal. Go to the Payments & Charges section and indicate that they would like to contribute to the ISA Pay It Forward program. A $5 donation will automatically be added to your balance.
100% of ISA Pay It Forward donations go toward funding sustainable projects identified by our ISA Service-Learning community partners in 13 cities around the world.
What is an example of a project funded by the Pay It Forward program?
The first partner organization selected to receive the Pay It Forward grant was Patio Volantín in Valparaíso, Chile. Through the financial support of ISA Pay It Forward along with the hard work of local community members and ISA Service-Learning students, the community exchange center built a community garden and turned an abandoned building into a gorgeous green space.
